The top drawer in the interior also has a Schinkel type pediment decoration and below it an maple arched decorative opening imitating stonework. The interior of the opening is also finished in flame mahogany. Below the fall front door there are 3 large drawers as there is a fourth above.There is a large cabinet door on the tabernacle which is flanked by two asymetrical crotch mahogany veneered columns with stamped and ormolu brass tops and bottoms. All exterior doors have mother of pearl escutcheons framed by ornate oval gilt brasses. All large frontal surfaces feature geometrical shapes that provide decorative relief to the horizontal and vertical exterior lines of the secretaire.
