Mahogany Console Stamped Jacob

Large Empire mahogany console table stamped Jacob D Rue Meslée. Mahogany veneer with single tapered front legs, surmounted by gilt bronze female busts, with gilt bonze feet wearing sandles at the base. Flat columns enclose the original mercury glass mirror at the rear, standing on a rectangular plinth. Original Bleu Turquin marble top. Inscribed in pencil ‘ “Boudoir de Madame au premier” with an inventory number “PR1877”.  François Honoré Georges Jacob and his father Georges Jacob between 1803 to 1813.
