Large pair French chenets

An extremely large and highly decorative pair of French 19th century brass chenets or fire dogs of superb quality.These chenets are stunning pieces both due to their size and quality.They consist of a decorative finial to the top leading down to scrolling flowers and foliage.They lead down to a central lion mask with foliage and paw feet below.This leads down to the base with winged lions to each side and scrolling and superb chased decoration.On the reverse each has an original iron stand and are both in very good condition.
