An early 19th century (circa 1820) French Empire mahogany commode. This commode consists of a Belgian black fossil marble top, in very good condition, leading down to three finely figured mahogany drawers with solid walnut linings. The top frieze drawer and two lower drawers all with gilt metal lion mask handles and central escutcheons, the middle drawer with gilt metal female caryatid mounts to either side, all supported on four block feet. This commode is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
