Rare Danish painting by Julius Paulsen (1860 - 1940). Julius Paulsen is represented in several museums and fine private collections. He studied in Denmark from 1879 to 1882 at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Julius Paulsen later became a professor at the same university. His strong connections to the Skagens painters is obvious as he visited Skagen often in the early 1900’s, while being inspired and influenced by Rembrandt.
