19th C. Louis XV st. Bureau

A superb French early 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood and exoticwood floral marquetry Bureau Plat. The desk is raised on cabriole legs with pierced ormolu wrap around sabots and finely chased top acanthus leaf designed ormolu mounts. At the arbalest frieze are two drawers with acanthus leaf ormolu handles and exotic wood floral marquetry that is repeated at each side. At the top is a gilt tooled leather surface fitted within an ormolu gallery with finely chased ormolu mounts at each corner.  All original patina and gilt throughout.
