Willy Rizzo large coffee table, burl walnut veneer with solid polished brass trim, 1970`s ca, Italian.This coffee table has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina and is ready to use. This large square coffee table sourced from Italy is attributed to Willy Rizzo based on a number of features. The modernist design, proportions, quality detailing & combination of luxury materials are similar to Rizzo`s `Alveo` range tables. The brass details & composition are similar to his `Linea Flaminia`. While Willy Rizzo pieces are often signed this one is not. A great addition to a large living room, this table would look super surrounded by a couple of loungey sofas. It would suit a range of decors including Art Deco, Oriental, Hollywood Regency, 70`s glamour, Industrial, Traditional or Contemporary. This design has an elegant combination of silky & shiny, in this case burl walnut with solid polished brass. The burl walnut veneer has a rich caramel colour finished with a gloss lacquer. The brass trim highlights the shape and adds depth. The frame is of cuboid portions including the legs. Similarly the top is a perfect square. The square clear glass top has a thickness of 10 mm. It sits securely into the frame, suspended on an internal brass trim. The glass can be removed for transport. Each leg is finished with a square tortoise shell Lucite plinth, whereby discretely raising the table from the floor. This vintage coffee table is in very good condition. It has the original vintage glass top which is in great conditions, no chips or major marks. The original clear lacquer is present on the wood, together with a warm vintage patina. The metal surfaces are all sound and in good condition, with only a couple of tiny dents to the brass which do not detract from the beauty (as photographed). Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. The glass top would be removed and wrapped separately in bubble wrap & an outer layer of card. The frame would have bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. In the 70`s he & his wife moved to Rome. They took the avant-garde step of converting a commercial space into an apartment.
