Tutankhamun lamp by Ahura Porcelain of Italy, black with gold plated gilt, 1970`s ca, Italian.This table lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is newly rewired & earthed, fully working and PAT tested by an electrician. It has a new brass lamp holder, black switch, golden silk cable & new black plug. Light bulb included. It is possible to use this lamp in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase a different bulb suitable to local electricity. Superbly painted & gilded this vintage porcelain lamp is unique, with black as the base colour. This lamp is signed by hand in gold `Ahura` on the front portion of the base. This l amp would be a sculptural addition to a range of Interiors including Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Post-Modern, Traditional or Contemporary. At the focal point is a porcelain base depicting Tutankhamun`s death mask; qual ity cast, and attention to detail in the hand painting & gilding on the Nemes headdress, face, beard & collar. The iconic  cobra Uraeus & vulture are present and continuously decorated all round including the back. Rising from the top of the head there is a short polished brass column leading to the lamp holder. This is inside a polished brass cover.  The lamp holder has 2 brass screw rings to hold the lampshade in place. This light uses a big screw (E27) light bulb. At present fitted & photographed with a standard clear light bulb of 40 Watts, which is included in the price. It is possible to use other E27 bulbs. The original vintage handmade shade is present; a Pagoda with an opening at the front to emphasise the mask. The shade has a great detailed metal frame with numerous segments curving downwards. It is in black silk with a bronze/copper tone fringe & gold detail trim on the outside. The inside of the shade is covered in another layer of black fabric. On the bottom of the lamp it is padded with new white felt. This vintage table lamp is in very good condition. The paint & gilt are in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The vintage lampshade is the original and in good condition. The metal frame is all sound. The fabric is in good condition, with only light wear & minor discoloration and rubbing in a couple of tiny places in line with age, as photographed. Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the lampshade would be removed and packed separately with bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The base would be packed similarly. Both parts would fit easily in a box ideal for posting or shipping. Additional dimensions: The total Height with the shade on is: Height: 54 cm; Width: 40 cm; Depth: 40 cm. The dimensions of the base alone without the shade is: Height: 40 cm; Width: 23 cm; Depth: 20 cm. The dimensions of the shade alone is Height: 17 cm; Width: 40 cm; Depth: 40 cm.AHURA PORCELAIN OF ITALYAhura porcelain of Nove in the north of Italy, was founded by Ezio & Flavia Zanardello in 1973.
