Description:

Swan magazine rack by Maison Jansen, brass, 1960`s ca, French. This magazine rack has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is ready to use. The swan form with its elegant proportions & lines, and repeated geometric forms are Neoclassical references which are kept light & Modern. Executed in solid polished brass, these are design features suggesting this magazine rack could be by the French design house Maison Jansen. This magazine rack is also very practical, with its generous size and compartments, ideal for presenting books or magazines. It would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Glamour, Industrial, Traditional or Contemporary. The Neoclassical frame in solid polished brass has ‘rational’ geometric proportions. The wings & feathers are elongated to its minimal form creating an elegant silhouette with four compartments that can hold books or magazines. The quality casting of the polished solid brass head is executed with naturalistic detail as are the two feet at the base. This vintage magazine rack is in very good condition. The solid brass frame is sound and has a warm antique patina with minor wear in line with age. Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport this piece would be bubble wrapped & put into a box with loose packing fill ideal for posting with a courier.MAISON JANSEN FURNITURE HISTORYMaison Jansen was a Paris based interior decoration office founded in 1880 and continued until 1989.
