Fine Chaise Longue / Day Bed of North American origin and in the Federal style - equivalent to the Regency style of England. The chaise longue has two fronts and is made to be used in the center of a room. A chaise longue of this quality and quite similar is exhibited in the Nathaniel Russel House Museum in Charleston South Carolina (as per last photo). The primary wood is sycamore with fine classical carvings characteristic of the Federal period. The decorative accents are of gilt brass and the sabre legs terminate in brass casters. It is totally restored and newly upholstered. It could be reupholstered according to client's taste.
