Important antique European barguenio type desk, thought to be constructed as an "Entrance Desk" where taxes were paid and important documents kept. These unique desks usually took the form of the front of the house or palace. Created mainly from satin walnut on its exterior and some in its interior. It still bears the distinctive crowns on two of its upper drawers. Many secret compartments, cabinets and drawers. Most of its design features and characteristics have never been seen before, they are unique and original such as its form, legs, drawer pulls, decorations and overall security system etc . Its rear panel is also finished and dressed with leather and may be slid up and down to reveal its intricate interior. Inside at the rear panel it seems to have had a security metal grill which was lifted and lowered from a hidden drawer in the front, securing all drawers with hooks. This grill is now missing. Its unique design has been attributed to the great Prussian architect Karl Freidrich Schinkel. Many more photos available on request.
