A spectacular early 18th century Italian giltwood mirror, circa 1730. The mirror is raised on richly carved acanthus leaf supports. The egg and dart border is joined at the top with a pierced central rosette medallion draping laurel garland topped with a bow. The very impressive top crown has a central urn joined to one at each corner with swaging garlands amidst scrolled acanthus leaves and a pierced wreath with a large top shell. All original mirror plate and gilt.
