Gold coffee table with 2 side tables sliding either side by Chelsom UK Designs, 1980`s ca, English. These tables have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina and are ready to use. This Modernist set of 1980`s tables have an unique & attractive design as the main rectangular coffee table and the two square side tables work together as a nest of tables. They can be used together as a central/nesting coffee table, or the two square tables separate as side tables. They are elegant with the delicate proportions of the tubular frames & practical with the 2 smaller tables sliding either side, saving space. As a composition they look sculptural & jewel-like. They would suit a range of interiors such as Traditional, Art Deco, Oriental, Modernist, Hollywood Regency, 70’s glamour, Industrial or Contemporary. Structurally, a quality decorative faux bamboo effect is present on the gilt metal frames. Additional naturalistic details such as stems & nodes along with the sculptural arched joints & lashing give texture & depth to the design. They are in the style of an earlier design by Maison Bagues of Paris. The quality frames are gold plated gilt metal with a warm tone, and have a good weight. The main table has stretchers on the two long sides & in the center. This allows the square tables to slide sideways. The square tables have stretchers on all four sides. Suspended in the center of each frame sits the glass top. They sit securely on ledges in each corner with clear rubber stoppers. All 3 quality clear glass tops are 6 mm thick and have a beveled edge of 25 mm. This bevelling & tone of glass reflect a look of faceted gems. These tables are in very good condition. The 3 glass tops have no chips, scratches or damages. Structurally the brass frames are sound and have the original patina & minor rubbing adding character. Each leg has the original gold toned plastic stopper at the end to protect the floor. This set of 3 tables sell together and the price is for the set. Additional dimensions Each smaller table has the following dimensions - Height: 35 cm, Width: 40 cm, Depth: 40 cm. Packing & wrapping is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. The glass tops would be wrapped in both bubble wrap & card and the frame bubble wrapped with a top layer of stretch-wrap for safe transport.
